SERVICE & POLICY WORK.

Strategy Chair,

Future Strategy Forum.

From 2020-2021, I served as the Strategy Chair for the Future Strategy Forum (FSF) on the graduate student team. The topic for the conference was ‘The Future of Technology and National Security.’ The event, which aims to connect scholars and practitioners in international security, explored the implications of emerging technologies for U.S. national security, international governance, and interstate conflict. FSF is made possible by The Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) and the Henry A. Kissinger Center for Global Affairs at the Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS). Graduate student sessions are supported in part by the Bridging the Gap Project (BtG). In 2019-2020, I was a FSF Graduate Fellow.

Cybersecurity Fellow,

Aspen Institute

.

From September 2020-December 2020, I was a Cybersecurity Fellow at the Aspen Institute. I was awarded the Aspen Institute Firestone Fellowship, where I worked closely with Aspen Digital’s cybersecurity work. This work fosters collaboration between technologists and policymakers, generates solutions to the critical challenges of the digital age and emerging technologies, and works to maximize the positive impact of innovation on society. In 2020, the cyber work included the Aspen Cyber Summit that aims to engage leading policymakers by discussing today’s most salient issues in cyber security and technological innovation.

Graduate Fellow,

Kissinger Center for Global Affairs.

In 2020, I was a Graduate Fellow at the Kissinger Center for Global Affairs, working on content related to the Nuclear Studies Research Initiative (NSRI). NSRI was established to support and expand a renaissance in nuclear studies by creating a platform for intellectual exchange, cross-fertilization, and mentorship. Under the leadership of Professor Jane Vaynman and Professor Francis Gavin, I helped facilitate a Virtual Learning Exchange for faculty members to utilize lectures, wargaming materials, simulation exercises, podcasts, and policy sessions for undergraduate courses related to all things nuclear.
